WPLG-TV – Miami, FL

The project for WPLG-TV included a new ground-up broadcast facility and a renovation of an existing transmitter facility.

A 65,000 square foot, two-story building, the broadcast facility housed a production and a broadcast studio.  The facility was designed to have backup generators and redundant mechanical units.  Because of the hurricane-ridden location, all of the mechanical units had to reside inside the building rather than on the rooftop, thus requiring extra coordination of interior space.  Additionally, loss of city water for cooling tower make-up had to be considered.  Because of this, the design included a water source from a nearby lake.

As for the existing transmitter facility, the existing facility’s power service was re-routed underground with a new transformer to serve WPLG, WSVN, and the existing radio station transmitter building. The renovated WPLG facility will house a new digital transmitter with provisions for a backup transmitter.  

Archon Data Center – Lewisville, Texas

The project consisted of an 8,000 square foot building primarily housing a Data Center and related office and support functions. 

 

Redundancy is such a critical aspect of data centers which is why the system designed for Archon is completely redundant, from the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems all the way down to the individual circuits in the racks.  There are two feeds from the main medium voltage switchboard.  The entire DX cooling system is dual fed.

 

This data center is classified as Tier III Plus because it includes multiple active power and cooling distribution paths, has redundant components and is fully concurrently maintainable.

Hall Financial E1 Building – Frisco, Texas

Hall Office Park is a premier 162-acre office development, just north of State Highway 121 on the Dallas North Tollway, that will accommodate more than 3.7 million square feet of architecturally distinctive office, hotel and restaurant facilities. 

 

We have designed several buildings at Hall Office Park – the latest one being the E1 building.  It is a 225,000 square foot building with three stories in three pods of 75,000 square foot each.  There will be two lobbies separating the three pods.  This building is located on the Dallas North Tollway with the lobbies facing east and the short side facing north and south.  The building has surface parking located immediately adjacent to the building.

Pulse Gym – Arlington, Texas

The project consisted of the tenant finish of approximately 8,530 square feet on the second floor of Pulse Gym at Arlington Highlands.  The fitness area include lounges, entry/check-in, cardio, weight machines, free weights, aerobics, sauna, steamroom, women's lockers and men's lockers.  The design of the lease utlilizes existing plumbing lines, domestic water supply locations, electrical capacity available in the building electrical room.  The lease is designed with new multiple independent rooftop HVAC units.
