The newly designed broadcast and production facility has its critical power backed by a 1 MW generator and UPS/flywheel system to preclude the necessity of replacing batteries every three to five years.  Mechanical systems included packaged DX VAV air handling units with economizer cycle.  HVAC systems were designed with acoustical treatment for critical noise areas and redundancy for technical operations areas.  Lightning protection is accomplished by utilizing a passive dissipative system to bleed off corona and to prevent an actual lightning strike directly to the facility.
