North Dallas Bank and Trust
Location: Dallas, Texas
Approximate Square Footage: 6,000
One feature of this banking facility was the city requirement to hide the mechanical units from public view. To hide the mechanical units, yet still provide the client the residential feel of a sloped roof, the architect provided "wells" in the center of the roof in which to hide the mechanical units. Extra effort was taken to carefully coordinate and plan the placement of the mechanical equipment in a roof well. Exhaust fans and natural gas exhaust must be able to overcome the height of the walls, to avoid re-circulating it back into the building. Specific gas flue details were provided and specific exhaust fan types were selected to overcome this obstacle.
DFW Consulting Group, Inc. worked with the architect to provide all necessary support systems such as the security camera system, hold-up alarm system, vault protection, teller drive-thru lighting, and so forth.
North Dallas Bank & Trust Co. opened for business in 1961. As one of the area's largest independent banks, claiming a history with the same name, same ownership and a record of profitability for every year in operation. The main office is located on the southeast corner of Preston Road and LBJ Freeway (I-635). Additional banking centers are located in Addison, Frisco, Las Colinas and Plano.
