Several areas in the facility had exposed structures (no ceilings) for a more "urban" feel, and the indoor corridor was designed as a track. To support this design, we utilized spiral ductwork and "highbay" type fixtures. These items were coordinated thoroughly with the architect to support the look of the space, as well as to function properly for the demands of the space.
Being a sports-related rehabilitation lease, the owner wanted to incorporate a small basketball court into the property. Portions of the shell building HVAC had to be relocated and/or redesigned to allow the removal of part of the second floor for the basketball court. The MEP systems also had to be carefully routed and coordinated to allow the basketball area to be free and clear of any obstructions. Lighting had to be coordinated to provide adequate illumination on the floor of the court (first floor), so lights were suspended from the second floor. Additional lights were provided to highlight the basketball jerseys hanging above the rim.
